Nico Tomacelli
Objective
To grow sponsor relationships that allow me to promote their product through regional exposure while being given the opportunity to set and pursue my individual goals in road racing.
Biography
My name is Nico Tomacelli and I am a privateer road racer from Issaquah, WA. 2008 marked my second year as an expert road racer in the Washington Motorcycle Road Race Association (WMRRA). I had another great season, finishing off strong with a 4th place finish in 750 Supersport. By the end of the season, I dropped my lap times a full 2 seconds from where I finished last season. Although I started out the 2008 season with fairly aggressive goals, I was able to accomplish even more than I thought possible. I look forward to what I can accomplish in 2009!

Community Involvement
- Assistant Director, NESBA track days. As assistant director, I help run the Northwest region of NESBA, a not for profit track day organization. NESBA succeeds in “giving back” to a sport that has meant so much to me by allowing both racers and street riders the opportunity to hone their skills on the track, rather than the open road.
- 2007-2009 WMRRA Novice Rider Representative. As the novice rider representative, I represent all Novice riders at Executive Board meetings, as well as handle any questions, problems or clarifications,. In the last two years, I've successfully implemented several changes that have made our program infinitely better than it was in the past.
- Seattle 100 - Fundraiser for Nephcure. I have participated in this event for the last 4 years. The Seattle 100 encourages local racers to raise money in their communities for a non-profit charity that handles kidney disease, Nephcure. Over the course of my involvement, I've raised over $20,000 in 4 years. You can read a press release issued by Road Racing World about this year's event here: http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=26588
2009 Season Plans & Goals
As we approach the 2009 season, I've once again set my aim (and goals) high! 2009 will mark my 3rd expert season and it is my intention to excel high above where I finished last season. Over the offseason, I have set some tough but realistic goals for 2009 and feel confident that I can accomplish each and every one of them - no question.
Specifically I hope to accomplish the following goals:
- Increase support from sponsors by outlining additional opportunities.
- Attend all WMRRA race dates, as well as several Masters of the Mountain races.
- Consistently finishing in the Top 5 of all 4 of my primary classes: 750 Supersport, 750 Superbike, Open Supersport, and Formula Ultra.
- Turn an average lap time in the 1:27's at Pacific Raceways.
- Have fun!
