Hi everyone,
2009 will mark my 3rd expert season and my 4th year of racing adventures. To all my family,
friends, and sponsors; thank you for your support and encouragement. I
appreciate it greatly. For those that I haven't met and stopping by,
thank you. I hope you enjoy the site. I thought I'd share some
information about myself that everyone may or may not know.
Name: Nico Tomacelli
Racing numbers: 923
Racing Organizations: WMRRA & OMRRA
Bike: 2006 Suzuki GSXR750
Age: 30
Residence: Issaquah, WA
Home track: Pacific Raceways
How did you get started in racing?
It started after my addiction to the track. I rode my first
track day in April of 2005. It was like a drug. I instantly became
addicted. My bike saw more track miles than street miles last year.
I started to spend more and more time at the track and developed some
friendships with racers. One of them was Allister. Allister
encouraged me to come out and give racing a try and being that I'm competitive
and always down to try something new, I said sure.
What is your favorite track?
Without a doubt. Reno Fernley Raceway. The track has everything.
Eleveation changes, camber changes, straights, tight corners, tricky
corners. 32 corners or pure bliss. I really love everything about that track.
Sure it could use some repaving but from all the tracks I've ridden, its by far the best!
What's your proudest moment in racing?
October 4th, 2008. I had my best finish to date with a 4th place finish in 750 Supersport.
I worked hard in difficult conditions to make my way through the pack and found myself sitting in 4th
when I crossed the finish line!
What's the best thing about racing?
The competition and the fact that at the end of the day, most of us are friends
out there having a good time. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a
weekend.
The worst thing?
Crashing sucks and its expensive. Racing in general is
expensive, but then again I always say. You cannot put a price tag on fun
or an experience.
Your weak point?
Getting on the gas early. It definately is something I've improved upon but still need to better to ensure
a great drive out of the corners.
Do you have a favorite racer?
It's hard not to say Rossi. The man is a god on 2 wheels and the mind
games and his ability are just amazing. Mladin, Bayliss, Haga, Hayes, Pitt, and Holden
are other favorites of mine.
What are your future racing goals?
For 2009, it's to get on the podium. I've been close a couple of times now and I'd like to finally bring it home on the box!!!
